Stone plate inlaid describes the situation the Jews faced whilst emigrating from the war-torn and Holocaust Europe to the land of Israel. In that time period Israel was not its own democratic state, it was still governed by British rule and the Jews were not allowed to enter freely. Many of them had to settle in Cyprus where this box was created.

Carved artwork on the stone plate (from left side) has a picture of the stone houses where they lived in Cyprus . Next to it there is a globe with a ship sailing in the sea, but has barbed wire and chain links tearing through it almost as if it is being held down. Above the globe is the word in Hebrew "Beha'afalah' meaning "Blockade running' and beneath the globe is the year in Hebrew  "1948". The final picture is the shape of the land of Israel  with the Kineret river running through down to a grove of palm trees at its base.
