With a printed dedication leaf in gilt lettering. In the introduction of the Sefer, the author intrduces a Piyyut by his grandfather about the rescue of the Jews of Batzra from Persian occupation in 1775.

The holy Gaon Rabbi Yaakov Elyashar, known as the Yissah Beracha, the Rishon LeZion and the Rav of Jerusalem. Was born in 1817. For many years served as Dayan in Jerusalem. In 1869, was appointed Av Beis Din of Jerusalem. In 1880, was asked to serve as the Rishon LeZion, yet gave up the position in favor of his in-law, Rabbi Raphael Meir Panigel.

After Rabbi Panigel’s passing, Rabbi Elyashar was appointed the Rishon LeZion in a ceremony that took place at the Raban Yochanan synagogue of Jerusalem in 1893. He held this important position for 13 years, until his passing. Authored many Seforim whose titles contained the initials of his name, Ish: Ish Emunim, Simchah LaIsh, Ma’asseh Ish, Derech Ish, Divrei Ish, Olas Ish, Sha’al Ish, Kavod LaIsh and Pnei Ish. Passed away in 1906.
