Sent to Rabbi Yaakov Ben Zion ben Menachem Hacohen Mendelsohn (1875-1941) was born in Krisburg. A leading disciple of Rabbi Binyomin Leib of Krisburg and of Rabbi gedalya Hertz in Jacobstadt and of Rabbi Kopel Margolis in Dvinsk. Immigrated to England and served as Moreh Tzeddek in Leeds, as Av Beis Din of Gateshead and of Glasgow, Scotland. In 1915, he immigrated to the USA and served as rav of Newark. Author of Sefer Sha’arei Zion (Leeds, 1904) and Midrash Yavetz (Leeds, 1911 and 1913; Newark, 1925). The leading rabbis who approbated his Seforim include the author of the Sdeh Chemed, the author of Aruch HaShulchan, Rabbi Shlomo Hacohen of Vilna, Rabbi Chaim Berlin and more.
