Rabbi Eliezer Zussman Sofer (1828 – 1902) was the Av Beis Din of Paksh and a prominent Hungarian scholar. He was the son of Rabbi Mordechai Ephraim Fishel Sofer and a disciple of the Chassam Sofer and Maharam Schick. He married the daughter of Rabbi Yoel Ungar, Av Beis Din of Paksh, author of Responsa Riv”a. He succeeded his father-in-law’s position in Paksh and served in this capacity until his passing. He authored many sefarim including Yalkut Eliezer, Sefer Hamikneh and others.
