The basic and monumental Sefer by the Gaon Rabbi Chaim of Brisk which immediately with its publication became a heritage asset in halls of Torah and the entire world of yeshivas. Its first edition! It is common knowledge that the Gaon Rabbi Chaim labored for many years on the principles and innovations appearing in the Sefer as well as on their precise version (it is told that he used to work for days on a single line of the Sefer). The Sefer was published approx. eighteen years after his passing by his son Maran the Griz Soloveitchik.

The Gaon Rabbeinu Chaim Soloveitchik Av Beis Din of Brisk DeLita (1853-1918), one of the greatest leaders of Yisroel in recent generations. The son of Maran the Beis Halevi. At a young age he married Mrs. Lipsha the daughter of the Gaon Rabbi Raphael Shapiro (the son-in-law of the Natziv).

At the age of 27, he was appointed Rosh Yeshiva at the Volozhin Yeshiva, as the deputy of the Natziv. In these years, he clarified the principles of his Torah innovations which he then worked on for years until they were published in their final form in the Sefer before us.
