During the First World War, the Chafetz Chaim fled to Russia, with a small number of talmidim and a few seforim. For a period of time he stayed in the home of Rabbi  Tzvi Yehuda Edelstein, Av Beit Din of Shumyachi. The Chafetz Chaim wrote his name in his seforim and when he returned to Radin he left them as a gift for his host. This is one of the seforim that he owned and used for his learning and is quoted many times in the Mishna Berurah. Rabbi Edelstein took the Seforim with him when he immigrated to Palestine.

Stamps of Rabbi Tzvi Yehuda Edelstein from when he was Ab”d of Ramat Hasharon [Ir Shalom] in Palestine. From the estate of his son Harav Edelstein Zt”l.

Rabbi Yisrael Meir Hakohein Kagan (1839-1933), universally renowned as the Chafetz Chaim after his famous sefer, was one of the last of the Achronim. He was “Rabban shel Yisrael” in every sense of the word. He was regarded as most brilliant, humble and pious among the Achronim, and there are few sages whose legacy impacts the contemporary Torah world as the Chafetz Chaim. His landmark sefarim, including Mishnah Brurah, Chafetz Chaim and Shemiras Halashon are studied universally by young and old, men, women and children alike.

Sefer Kol Bo – one of the earliest and most important sifrei halachah, continually cited in Torah literature. The author of the Kol Bo is unknown, and there are differences of opinion about his identity. There are those who attribute it to the Riva"sh, and there are those who attribute it to Rabbi Aharon HaKohen of Lunel. Koreh HaDorot writes that there are those who say that a wise woman authored this sefer.
