Second edition of the responsa of Rabbi Joseph Colon, one of the leading Halachic authorities from the Rishonim period. Responsa are indexed according to Maimonides’ order. 

Printed by Vincenzo Conti, who printed in several locations but was best known for his printing house in Cremona (active 1556-1567).

Lacking the title page & first 12 pages, tears & tapings affecting text, lacking pages 62 & 65, lacking 12 pages at end. All the lacking pages supplied in photocopy, new binding.

The author Rabbi Joseph Colon Trabotto (1426-1490) was a foremost Halachic authority of 15th-century Italian Jewry. He imbibed his Torah wisdom from his father Rabbi Solomon who descended from Rashi, as well as from Rabbi Mordechai Nathan. Rabbi Joseph served as Rabbi and Rosh Yeshiva in Piedmont, Mantua and Pavia. Rabbi Ovadia of Bartenura, famed author of a commentary on the Mishna, was one of his prominent disciples.
