Overall Good condition. some stains, some lower page corners frayed and have small tears not affecting text, original binding has damaged corners rubbed out edges and lacking spine.

The Gaon Rabbi Rabbi Gershon son of Rabbi Yitzchak Ashkenazi (1715-1693), one of the greatest rabbis and leaders of his generation, who raised many students. Born in Olaf (Germany), He was a student of the Bach, the Magini Shlomo and Rabbi Menachem Mendel, author of the Tzemach Tzedek Responsa (HaKadmon). Served as a Dayan in Kraków, and as Rabbi and Rosh Yeshiva in Prostitz and Nickelsburg (Moravia), Vienna (Austria). After the deportation of Austrian Jews, he became a rabbi and Av Beit Din of Metz (France).
